Baby's Baby's Everywhere!

It seems like these past few couple of months have been the months of celebrating new life. First there was Lucy (the little Turkey) born on Thanksgiving day, then Billy and Lena had Emma Elizabeth near Christmas time and a friend at church had one on Christmas Eve as well as another friend that had one on Thanksgiving! Holly Cow! Out of all of those, only one was a boy...this is the year of the girls...sorry Korban it looks like there won't be too many boys your age to play with.

Miss Emma Elizabeth

I regret I do not have pictures of the others but believe me they are cuuuuute!

And as if bitty baby's are not cute enough, I was driving down a nearby street one day and spied two black baby lambs that literally were just born. I would post a picture but it might be a bit too yucky for the squeamish. It just amazes me that minutes after being born they are up and walking and eating their first meal without hardly any help at all. It is so different with humans...we need to be fed and nurtured for a year before we are walking well on our own and it is months before we can feed ourselves...I wonder why God made us that way?.?.?. Oh I give up! (not sure if I am supposed to put a question mark here or a period). Maybe just to show us how much we need Him:)

Korban has been quite the little busy body. We attempted to go to the movies to see Bedtime Stories with him and our Niece and Nephew, Naomi and Noah. All went pretty well accept for the fact that they do not have a changing table in the women's bathroom! Very inconvenient after having climbed the flight of stairs with a baby in one arm and a diaper bag in the other just to go back down again and find a secluded place to change him. And of course it had to be a super McNasty diaper..the kind that does not mingle well with the smell of Popcorn and Hot pretzels...yuk! Yucky diaper out of the way, we had a fun time and he enjoyed watching the movie from his little seat.

Well it is getting late and I hear my bed calling me to sweet slumber. Goodnight all!

Sweet Dreams

So this has to be some kind of a record for me....two blogs in one day! And in less than an hour! I could not let this story pass up. A couple of weeks ago I had much to do in the house and so I put Korban in his little jumpy seat and put on Baby Doolittle...he loves the animals! I kept checking on the little guy and he was happy and content bouncing in his seat and watching the animals on Tv. When I finished my chores I realized, "Hmmm, Korban sure has been quiet for some time. I peek over the sofa to find our little man sound asleep with his head resting on his bouncy seet. Sooooo cute! And as if that was not cute enough...well you will just have to watch the video!

Happy New Year!

I pray that this blog finds all of you well and enjoying the beginnings of the new year!

As I am sure we can all attest to, December was a full month of going places, seeing family and friends for visits that were long over due and of course the every day regret of eating that "one more bite of a sugar cookie" at the office, or Christmas party after saying you would have no more.......but what the hay, it's Christmas! I think that is part of why New years was invented to get us back on track.

Well as you can imagine we were very excited to have our first Christmas with our little boy. Even though he had no clue as to what was going on and "why all the fuss" we still seized the moment to make new family traditions on Christmas morning and in preparation for the big day.

And for those of you who received a Christmas card from us, it said "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given...Isaiah 9:6,......I did not realize until afterwards that we too indeed had a child born who is our son but believe me we chose it solely for the purpose of rejoicing in our Savior! There is however a Cheerful song that we have on our Sixpence None the Richer CD called the last Christmas Without You. She starts off by singing, "I feel your heart beating inside my own skin and I think of Mary in Bethlehem...." She goes on to say that this would be the last Christmas without her baby and it sounds a little confusing at first but then I thought about it as I listened and wanted to cry when I realized that every Christmas before was without our little Korban. How did we ever have so much fun before without him? Last Christmas he was barely a little lump in my tummy and now here he is, that little heart beat I felt inside of me is now a happy little baby in my arms. After having gone through labor and an unconscious delivery, I can't even begin to imagine what Mary was going through in that stable full of farm animals and hay.....and we think we have it tough, sheesh!

So needless to say our Christmas day was chocked full of family food and fun. Korban mostly enjoyed eating his gifts. My parents were out to visit as well which is always a blessing. New years was a blast as well. We had a Nintendo Wii boxing match at church with Pastor Rob up against Pastor Guy, Guy being the victor and Josh the announcer who says, "Lets get ready to rumble!" Which I have to say he does a very good impression.

Now to look forward to a New year with new accomplishments and adventures. Korban is close to calling me Mama and Sitting up on his own more. Before we know it he will be crawling!

Well to all of our family and friends....may God bless you this new year and more to come!

Toe Jam and Turkey

It has been a little while now but Korban has discovered his flexibility which for him comes with the satisfying reward of chewing on his toes. He really goes to town on the right one especially and coos and jibber jabbers while doing it. Maybe he was just trying to tell me "mom! I am ready to eat something other than just milk!"

...So Korban has graduated to rice cereal. But that became boring to him pretty fast and his bland cereal has now been sweetened with pears. Life just got a little more interesting for Korban! Notice the look of glee
as he stares at his cereal.

We have also just returned from a Thanksgiving trip to my Parents house in Utah. The weather was perfect for nestling down in-doors and staying in our pj's most of the day.
We were blessed to enjoy Mom's yummy cooking,
Dad's crackling fire and God's wonderful beauty outside of every window.
The day before Thanksgiving we drove up to Brian Head and experience
our first time out in falling snow! Despite the fact that it was very cold and windy
we had a good time and enjoyed it for a few minutes before rushing back
to the warmth of our car. Poor Korban looked like a pea in a pod all stuffed down
in Josh's jacket. At least he was warm and really seemed to enjoy
licking the snowflakes off of his lips.

Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and so much fun to make.
Mom you always make a tasty turkey!

I have finally decided that home is not necessarily the house you are in but the people you are with that make it a "home".

And to top it all off Little Lucy LaTour (Korban's new cousin) was born on Thanksgiving day! The little turkey couldn't wait any longer. I won't give too many details because I want to let the proud Mama and Papa share their story of the eventful day but here is a picture to tide you over.

Strike A Pose

Things seem to be winding down a bit as we go into Thanksgiving in just two weeks...not even a full two weeks! But we are truly looking forward to it. It's like it is the last big thing of all the big things that have been going on lately. Then there will be a pause until Jessica and Andrews wee little one is born....really can't wait for that! We just had her baby shower too and I would post some pictures but they are all on her camera. I have to admit I became a little covetous of her camera and set mine aside to use hers...it just takes such amazing pictures!

We have so much to be thankful for in how God has blessed us throughout the years and this year alone. So before we start to stuff our faces and belly's I hope we stop to remember all that He has done and even carried us through as well as the little blessings on the way, (my friend Lena is having a baby too.)

Now regarding the headline of this blog post, "Strike a Pose". Even though I put a picture of Korban in his kilt on the last post I took the liberty of making a more "official" photo of him in his little outfit. Since we were at it, we took a few other pictures to relish the moment before he got fed up with me and the camera. My favorite is the one where his finger is hanging off the corner of his mouth. He looks like he did something bad and is saying, "Who me!"

Well I had other pictures to post but my computer is being difficult and I don't want to bother my man at the moment but I will add more later.

Goodnight and God Bless!

Scottish Shortbread

Like I said in my last posting, we had another wedding to go to. My Cousin Jessica is now married to Ben Holt her long time Beau and now loving husband. Thankfully all the walking I did with my friend Cristina payed off so I could fit into the beautiful dress my cousin chose for the bridesmaids....woohoo! The wedding couldn't have been more perfect. It was a Scottish theme and very sentimental to our family as well...you see, the church where they were married is the same church my Grandpa and Grandma (Bommpa and Grandmommy) were married in. Not to mention the night before was the the rehearsal dinner at the Tam O' Shanter where my Grandparents went on their first date. I was holding up pretty fine at the wedding until their wedding day was mentioned. I miss Bampa so much, but I know he was smiling down on all of us that day!

Korban looked oh so cute in his little Scottish outfit and it was not until now that I thought his nick name fore the day should of been " My little Scottish shortbread". With cheeks like that you can't help but eat him up!

After returning to Ramona we all piled back into the car and went to little Jacks Birthday. The Elmo theme was oh so cute and the best part was just being surrounded by family...even Roz and John from Ohio as well as Aunt Joan were all there. Seeing all of the little ones running around made me look forward to Korban's birthdays to come. They all bring so much joy!

Well before I ramble on any more.....goodnight!

Time fly's...

Time fly's when your a new mom! I know it has been a while but get used to it because one, I was never great at keeping a journal or diary and two I just forget to sit down and do this! Much has been happening since the last blog and there seems to never be a dull moment with our little Korban. He is now two months old almost 3 and seems to grow more and more every day. His character is developing more which is a lot of fun. The best part is going into his room in the morning. We hear him squirming and almost crying but not quite...then some grunting (working on a diaper for mommy) then I pop my head over the crib and wait for him to notice me. It takes him a few seconds because he is doing all of this fussing with his eyes closed so I say "Korban open your eyes and you will see mommy!" So he opens his cute little eyes and gets the biggest smile usually followed by a squeak and squirm. It is the best feeling in the world. I don't think anybody Else's smile can make my heart leap like his does.

We recently went on a trip to Ohio for our cousin Becky's (Josh's cousin) wedding. Korban did well on the plane and was a little lady's man with the flight attendants. I thought he was pretty cute too until he messed himself all over my lap. Well he was still cute but the situation not so cute.....in fact it was pretty gross. I thought the plane would be landing soon so we could just change him when we got to the airport. It was the longest most uncomfortable descent of my life. Thankfully my shirt was long enough to cover the front of my pants and nobody could see the horrible stain. Two weeks later, Josh would get to experience close to the same thing but this time it was at church and there was no hiding it!

At the wedding Korban was quite the little dancer! Josh held him on the dance floor and Korban would push up and down with his chubby little legs..Look out Dancing With The Stars there is a new guy in town! The wedding was fun and spending time with family was great. We spent some time at Cousin Brad's house (Josh's cousin) and with his wife Doreene and the kids as well. Shaker Heights is were they live and it is such a beautiful little place. Everything is so green in fact all of Ohio is so green, it makes Ramona look like a dust bowl! I only wish we could grow tomato plants and hydrangeas as beautiful as the ones I saw in Shaker heights.

For the last day of our trip we visited the Amish country in Berlin. We could have spent days there if we had more time. It was so different from our normal every day fast paced lives. But I have to say it wold be hard to part with the many things that make chores and communication so much easier. Little Korban slept through the whole day, except to eat of course, he was always awake for that! To top off the whole day we stopped at lake Erie. The weather was a bit chilly but the view amazing. I have never seen a lake so big! It looked like the ocean. Josh was pretty happy to see it and as you can tell in one of the pictures Korban was pretty happy too.

Now we are home and settled back into our routine. Next big event...another wedding!
