Hey Baby!

Well break out the maternity clothes and put away the skinny jeans....this little mama is having another baby! Woohoooo! That's how I felt when the test, two tests, came up positive. We couldn't be more thrilled at the wonderful little bundle that will come into this family in...August? An ultrasound on the 29th should give us a better estimation but August is my guess.

I had to keep it a secret for one night from Josh because I wanted to try a different test to be sure. I could hardly sleep that night and scurried about the next day to find a "Big Brother"
T-shirt for Korban to ware when Josh walked in the door from work. Apparently those shirts do not exist at Target or Babies R Us so my search ended. Thankfully A white t-shirt and some sharpies saved the day and we made our own, (wish I had thought of it sooner and saved the trip). Needless to say the look on Josh's face was priceless and Korban was just happy to see him home. Even more priceless was the Grandma's reaction to the whole thing. I think I may need permission to post those videos on here but they were pretty funny. Hopefully the next post will include an ultrasound picture of the new Steinberg baby. Love to you all and Merry Christmas!

Before its too late

So I know that November has come and gone already but I have to share these photos from Utah. I know your probably thinking "Do these people ever slow down?" We did a lot of traveling last month and though bits of it are exhausting I never regret a single moment. We drove to Utah after being home only a week since returning from our previous trip to visit family in other places. But now that all the laundry is caught up and this is the first week since we have been home that there is not a ton of stuff going on, I feel like I can Finlay sit down and do something fun like Blog!

Things tend to get a little crazy in the kitchen on Thanksgiving day...Naomi is the only sane one:)

My mom had made some matching Jammie's for the little ones and Makenna who just adores Korban planted a smooch on his tired little face.

Makenna in the sweetest hat ever and My Brother Brian on our freezing cold icy hike to the frozen waterfall. We had to cross the frozen creek to get there.

Tony getting ready to carve the turkey...

The Day after Thanksgiving we went to Brian head and had fun in the snow. Well at least most of us did. I don't think Korban was too thrilled with the sledding.

Mom and Dad beeing silly...

Tony,Noah and Naomi snowboarding.

All in all we had a blessed time and look forward to it again next year. Thanks Dad and Mom for everything!

Now for my next blog. Whatever shall I wright about?

I would have strategically placed these photos but it takes forever here and the computer is ornery. We are having a blessed time and are looking forward to Seattle on Tuesday. But to follow in a few of my fellow bloggers footsteps I need to jot down the things that Korban is trying to say these days. I don't know if it is the change of scenery or the tropical breeze but he is quite talkative and willing to give new words a shot.

New words in his vocabulary...

Shaka (while trying very hard to give the "hang loose sign"

Pumpkin Pie

Bubba (the dog, and he says it with complete adoration)

yeehaw

down

Dada...Poopoo (compliments of me ha ha)

Four and five

eeww!
He is attempting "I love you".

Baby Monkeys Invade Hawaii

Hello to all and Aloha! We are in Kona Hawaii yet again for a little R n R...The last time Korban can fly for free! We left home on the 27th and flew into Seattle for an over night layover and a much anticipated visit to see Mary, Paul and their new little bundle of cuteness, Samantha. Paul and Mary, parenthood suits you well. It was so sweet to see you guys as a mom and dad and so in love with your new found joy:)

I love love love the fall weather in Seattle! The only other place That I have seen trees so beautiful Is on the East Coast. I am looking forward to spending the last 4 days of our trip there with Paul, Mary and Samantha.

Well we went from Cold and damp to warm and humid. Fall weather and blankets to swim suits and sand. We spent our first day at snorkel beach and went out for a huge Hawaiian snow cone afterwards...I think this is becoming tradition. However I think last time we got the medium cone because I don't remember it being so gargantuan!

Solid Rock Ministries is our favorite church in Kona and they were putting on a Candy Land Adventure by the old Kona airport. It was so much fun and the staff and willing servants put on such a fun and friendly event. We couldn't help it...we had to buy Korban the cutest little monkey outfit ever.

This outfit is a keeper.

Summers Garden

Over the last few months I have taken some pictures of our Garden as it began to grow and produce the fruits of our labor. It was so much fun to plant our own fruits and veggies to enjoy them when they were fresh for the pickin. Some did not do so well but it was all about trial and error so that next year we will hopefully have a better grasp at what we are doing. Korban was right there with me almost every evening watering our garden and eagerly asking for "mo?" more, tomato's.....you would think it was candy on a tree the way he eats them!

The bell peppers never really grew quite big enough to eat...the small ones are BITTER!

Sweet peas to remind me of where I grew up, my dad always had some sweet peas climbing the fence.

Watermelon

The many stages of a beautiful sunflower...

And my favorite place to buy big beautiful produce at great prices, ...Conoly Gardens...

Summer of Fun

From what I heard today is officially the last day of Summer..bring it on fall! Not to say that I did not enjoy the summer time at all, I loved every minute of "first" moments with our little boy.

His first swim class was near the end of July into August. I was amazed at the things you can teach your little one about swimming at such a young age. I mostly signed us up because we needed to do something with other people and their kids to get out of the house yet stay cool in the process, something not easily accomplished in Ramona. We walked away from it with lots of helpful tips and such to make our pool time safe and fun. Korban loved jumping off of the edge to the tune of "jack be nimble" or "Humpty Dumpty".

As the day would cool down to something tolerable enough to play outside, Korban would ride in his little bike and help me water the garden and pick any veggies that were ready for eating. The tomato plant is his favorite and each time he see's it I hear "mmm!" and something that sounds like he is trying to say"more?"

Another "first" moment, Korban's first time sitting at the table NOT in a high chair! He was so proud of his new little booster seat. Granted he seams to make more of a mess now that he has more room but it's worth it:)

Then there was his first Padres game! I really did not think he would make it through the whole thing and I was actually quite nervous about bringing him. There isn't exactly anywhere for him to play or crawl but when you attend a game with grandma and grandpa and ton of people from church, chances are somebody is going t want to hold him. In fact he hardly sat with us the whole time! Padres won and we had a blast.

And as if his loud and funny drum playing wasn't enough music to fill the house with "a joyful noise", Korban became interested in the Harmonica. He picked up the concept quickly and gets a kick out of playing it.

Eat your heart out Blues Brothers.

Oh how the list could go on and on.....but I can save them for another day. We just did so much stuff and met with so many friends and family over the summer, to put it into one blog would be way too overwhelming! God willing I will blog again soon...but don't hold your breath just in case!

Crazy Days of Summer

Hot summer days got you down?

Well don't you worry! There is plenty to do!
Nothing says cool down like a nice splash in the pool...what the heck, invite some friends!

Or, you can take in some of the finer amusements like Sea World or the Wild Animal Park. Watch out for those pesky lions!

Now might even be the time to pick up a new hobby or two such as cycling or really loud drums.

But one thing is for sure, you must take time to enjoy the simple things such as...

Reading a good novel.

The fresh sent of a newly washed snugly.

Ice cream!

Dandelions

Beautiful sunsets.

So you see, there is no need for the summer blues. As long as you have a willing Mommy with a fully loaded diaper bag and well charged camera...you can go just about anywhere and do just about anything, well, almost anything.
