Adventure Boy!

My little guy is changing fast before my eyes. I just remembered today that I forgot to take a picture of him with his duckie last month. I want to have a picture of him for his first year with his duckie beside him to see his growth. So we are missing some documentation but I took a picture today to catch up. He was more interested in attacking the duck rather than just sitting by it. It is so funny that lately he has been easily amused by stuffed animals and puppets...they crack him up!

Another sweet moment to share...we went on a family walk a little while back and Josh carried Korban in the Baby Bjorn, (otherwise known as the "snugly" but not the kind of snugly on infomercials like Jessica mentioned. HA!) Any who...Korban was very excited to get out and see things.....

But by the time we had been out walking for quite a while, Korban was tired to say the least...

While in Utah visiting my parents for Thanksgiving, I happened upon this vinyl wall decal...

It is the verse from James 1:17 "Every good and perfect comes from above..." I was so stoked to find one of these wall quotes in a Bible verse. And since the walls of Korbans room were a cream color just like the letters were a cream color, I had to paint the wall brown to set it off. I love it! It looks like chocolate!

And one more picture for the road. Auntie Jessica took this one of Korban staring longingly into the giant silver Christmas ornament. It was like one of those silly mirrors at carnivals that make you look all weird and funny shaped.

I hope you all have a blessed week!

Baby's Baby's Everywhere!

It seems like these past few couple of months have been the months of celebrating new life. First there was Lucy (the little Turkey) born on Thanksgiving day, then Billy and Lena had Emma Elizabeth near Christmas time and a friend at church had one on Christmas Eve as well as another friend that had one on Thanksgiving! Holly Cow! Out of all of those, only one was a boy...this is the year of the girls...sorry Korban it looks like there won't be too many boys your age to play with.

I regret I do not have pictures of the others but believe me they are cuuuuute!

And as if bitty baby's are not cute enough, I was driving down a nearby street one day and spied two black baby lambs that literally were just born. I would post a picture but it might be a bit too yucky for the squeamish. It just amazes me that minutes after being born they are up and walking and eating their first meal without hardly any help at all. It is so different with humans...we need to be fed and nurtured for a year before we are walking well on our own and it is months before we can feed ourselves...I wonder why God made us that way?.?.?. Oh I give up! (not sure if I am supposed to put a question mark here or a period). Maybe just to show us how much we need Him:)

Korban has been quite the little busy body. We attempted to go to the movies to see Bedtime Stories with him and our Niece and Nephew, Naomi and Noah. All went pretty well accept for the fact that they do not have a changing table in the women's bathroom! Very inconvenient after having climbed the flight of stairs with a baby in one arm and a diaper bag in the other just to go back down again and find a secluded place to change him. And of course it had to be a super McNasty diaper..the kind that does not mingle well with the smell of Popcorn and Hot pretzels...yuk! Yucky diaper out of the way, we had a fun time and he enjoyed watching the movie from his little seat.

Well it is getting late and I hear my bed calling me to sweet slumber. Goodnight all!

Sweet Dreams

So this has to be some kind of a record for me....two blogs in one day! And in less than an hour! I could not let this story pass up. A couple of weeks ago I had much to do in the house and so I put Korban in his little jumpy seat and put on Baby Doolittle...he loves the animals! I kept checking on the little guy and he was happy and content bouncing in his seat and watching the animals on Tv. When I finished my chores I realized, "Hmmm, Korban sure has been quiet for some time. I peek over the sofa to find our little man sound asleep with his head resting on his bouncy seet. Sooooo cute! And as if that was not cute enough...well you will just have to watch the video!

Happy New Year!

I pray that this blog finds all of you well and enjoying the beginnings of the new year!

As I am sure we can all attest to, December was a full month of going places, seeing family and friends for visits that were long over due and of course the every day regret of eating that "one more bite of a sugar cookie" at the office, or Christmas party after saying you would have no more.......but what the hay, it's Christmas! I think that is part of why New years was invented to get us back on track.

Well as you can imagine we were very excited to have our first Christmas with our little boy. Even though he had no clue as to what was going on and "why all the fuss" we still seized the moment to make new family traditions on Christmas morning and in preparation for the big day.

And for those of you who received a Christmas card from us, it said "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given...Isaiah 9:6,......I did not realize until afterwards that we too indeed had a child born who is our son but believe me we chose it solely for the purpose of rejoicing in our Savior! There is however a Cheerful song that we have on our Sixpence None the Richer CD called the last Christmas Without You. She starts off by singing, "I feel your heart beating inside my own skin and I think of Mary in Bethlehem...." She goes on to say that this would be the last Christmas without her baby and it sounds a little confusing at first but then I thought about it as I listened and wanted to cry when I realized that every Christmas before was without our little Korban. How did we ever have so much fun before without him? Last Christmas he was barely a little lump in my tummy and now here he is, that little heart beat I felt inside of me is now a happy little baby in my arms. After having gone through labor and an unconscious delivery, I can't even begin to imagine what Mary was going through in that stable full of farm animals and hay.....and we think we have it tough, sheesh!

So needless to say our Christmas day was chocked full of family food and fun. Korban mostly enjoyed eating his gifts. My parents were out to visit as well which is always a blessing. New years was a blast as well. We had a Nintendo Wii boxing match at church with Pastor Rob up against Pastor Guy, Guy being the victor and Josh the announcer who says, "Lets get ready to rumble!" Which I have to say he does a very good impression.

Now to look forward to a New year with new accomplishments and adventures. Korban is close to calling me Mama and Sitting up on his own more. Before we know it he will be crawling!

Well to all of our family and friends....may God bless you this new year and more to come!
